It's a tradition. The Birthday Person gets to choose dinner and dessert. In this case pizza, smoothies, and always, a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. She will only eat the crunchies in the middle and if all goes well she'll have a party with friends at a later date.
The Fertig's sent a card, "tiny gum" (Chicklets) and the de riguer "It's my 9th birthday!" ribbon and a mood ring.
The mood ring is a big hit except that she became concerned when it kept showing her as "stressed." She wasn't, but after she spent some time worrying about why the mood ring thought she was, she was starting to be!
As her "birthday suit" she wore her Hannah Montana tee, coordinating sweatshirt, and a rainbow sticker. If you can't be happy wearing Hannah Montana and rainbows then I really think nothing much will please you.
She said it was the "best birthday day ever!"
